Was watching a science show on TV yesterday about obesity. We always think it's something new, only developed with that fast food crap from McD & Co., but that's not really true.

They were using Germany as an example: Before WWII, people were reasonably healthy. After the war, in 1947, they suffered their worst hunger year but after that, people steadily grew fatter. By the end of the 50s, 15% of Germans were already overweight.

By the end of the 60s, the number had grown so significantly (but I can't recall it  ) that the government started to promote a healthier life-style and exercising. Since then the number of overweight and obese Germans is still growing but at a slower rate than before.

Interesting, I thought, because I too was one of the folks who blamed that inedible fast food from McD & Co. for obesity but I guess I was wrong.

So, a healthier life-style and exercising it is!

Right!!! :)) :)) :))
